WaterVerse is a local drinking water delivery service based in Kingstree, South Carolina. We fill, seal and deliver 21 litre bottles of purified water to homes and offices on a fixed monthly route, then collect the empties and bring fresh bottles the next time around.
Why we started
Buying cases of small plastic bottles is expensive, heavy to carry and wasteful. Hauling a five gallon jug home from a store is worse. We built WaterVerse so that a household or a small office can set a plan once and simply have good water show up.
How the water is treated
Every bottle goes through five stages before it is sealed:
- Sediment filtration to remove sand, silt and rust.
- Activated carbon filtration to remove chlorine, odour and taste.
- Reverse osmosis to remove dissolved solids, heavy metals and nitrates.
- Ultraviolet treatment to deal with bacteria and other living organisms.
- Ozonation, then the bottle is capped and sealed with a batch date.
Bottles are washed, sanitised and inspected before every refill. Any bottle that is scratched, cracked or damaged is taken out of service.
